SURGERY
Animal General Hospital performs a variety of general surgical procedures for dogs and cats. Every patient receives an individualized surgical and anesthetic plan based on age, health, laboratory results, and the procedure being performed.

Complex orthopedic, neurologic, surgical or advanced oncologic procedures may be referred to an appropriate veterinary specialist.
ANESTHESIA AND PATIENT MONITORING
Patient safety is our highest priority. Pre-anesthetic laboratory testing is performed according to the patient’s age, species, health, and planned procedure. Dogs undergoing anesthesia generally receive a complete blood count, chemistry profile, and electrocardiogram. Cats generally receive a complete blood count and chemistry profile, with additional testing when indicated.
During anesthesia, patients receive appropriate intravenous fluids and continuous monitoring. Pain-management medications are selected for each patient and procedure.
DENTAL CARE
Dental disease can cause pain, infection, difficulty eating, and damage to other organs. Our dental services are designed to protect your pet’s comfort and long-term health.
Dental services include:
• Complete oral examinations
• Professional dental cleaning and polishing
• Treatment of periodontal disease
• Tooth extractions when necessary

• Postoperative observation
Patients requiring overnight intensive care or continuous emergency monitoring may be transferred to an appropriate emergency or specialty hospital.
LASER THERAPY
Therapeutic laser treatment may help reduce pain and inflammation and support healing in selected patients.
Laser therapy may be recommended for:
• Arthritis and chronic joint pain
• Soft-tissue injuries
• Back and neck discomfort
• Postoperative recovery
• Wounds
• Inflammatory conditions
Treatment recommendations depend on your pet’s diagnosis and individual medical needs.
TELEMEDICINE
Telemedicine may be available for selected established patients and appropriate medical concerns. Not every condition can be diagnosed or treated remotely. Some problems require a physical examination, diagnostic testing, or immediate emergency care.

PHARMACY AND PRESCRIPTION DIETS
We provide commonly prescribed veterinary medications and prescription diets. Approved medications, prescription diets, and refills may also be ordered securely through our trusted Vetsource online pharmacy.

Our LifeLearn Pet Health Library provides reliable client-education information about common medical conditions affecting dogs and cats. Topics are available in English and Spanish.

REFERRALS AND SPECIALTY CARE
When a patient requires advanced diagnostics or treatment beyond the scope of general practice, we will recommend referral to an appropriate veterinary specialist. We work with specialty and emergency hospitals to help ensure continuity of care.
